Former Arsenal player Theo Walcott reveals why he thinks Arsenal will still be the winners of the premier League title this season
There is no doubt that Theo Walcott wants Arsenal’s north London rivals Tottenham to do well against Manchester City so that it will help the Gunners’ title hopes.
If Manchester City wins at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday night, they will pass Arsenal as the winners in the Premier League. Mikel Arteta’s team is only one point behind Pep Guardiola’s team, and they will win the title if they win their last two games.
On the last day of the season, Sunday, Arsenal will meet Everton at the Emirates Stadium. They will be hoping that their rivals can do them a favor. City will play West Ham on the last day of the season. If they beat Ange Postecoglou’s team, they will have a chance to win a record fourth straight Premier League title.
Walcott, a former player for Arsenal, has said that he “wears Tottenham white” to try to pull off a surprise against their title rivals. He also says that Postecoglou will want his team to be in “good habits for next season.”
Some Spurs fans think they shouldn’t try to beat City because they’re afraid it will give their fierce foes a huge advantage in the title race. But Postecoglou has shot down any idea that this could happen.
On BBC’s Monday Night Club, he said, “I’m in Tottenham white now.” “Well, I think City will win, but I also think Tottenham will do well because it’s their home field and they’ll want to show what they can do as players.”
“There is gonna be a lot of dissatisfied individuals I think, during the game, if their team end up playing exceptionally well but you want to be in good shape and I think Postecoglou will want to get him into good habits for next season.”
“Do you really believe that most of our fans will want us to lose tomorrow night?” His answer was, “I don’t see it that way.” “I believe that most of our fans will create the same atmosphere that they always do at home games.” We have a football game to win, no matter what, and that’s what we’re going to do.
