It was hard for Celtic fans and Brendan Rodgers to accept the loss of Liel Abada at the start of the year.

After two seasons, the Israeli winger helped Ange Postecoglou rebuild the team and win seven of its nine awards. He was a huge hit with the fans.

He joined Celtic in the summer of 2021 and scored 29 goals and set up 22 others. In his short time there, he quickly became a fan favorite.

But he had to leave the club because of personal issues, and a deal was made to sell the 22-year-old shooter to Charlotte FC of the Major League Soccer.

For about four months now, Abada has been living with Charlotte. He seems to be loving his time in the United States.

He has every right to. The young player is getting paid a lot for his big move because he is Charlotte FC’s highest-paid player.

The Herald Sports pull-out print version page 1 in the US says that Abada’s €2.3m (£1.81m) annual salary is the most the club has ever paid only one player.

The report also says that Abada’s salary could go up to almost $2.5m (£1.971m) after bonuses and payments for service. This means that his current weekly salary of £35,000 could go up.

The former Rangers player Scott Arfield makes five times as much (£354k), as does Poland’s Karol Świderski, who makes £1.77m and is a striker for the national team.

Abada has only played nine times for Charlotte FC since moving to the United States and has scored three goals in that time.

Charlotte is currently in fifth place in the table, 12 points behind Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami but only two points behind third-placed New York Red Bulls.15 games have been played.

Abada Till still has two years left on his deal, so he has plenty of time to make it to Charlotte’s first team. They will be expecting big things from a player they really like.
