Chris Sutton, an ex-Celtic striker, wants Martin Dubravka to move to Celtic Park when Joe Hart retires.
Chris Sutton wants Martin Dubravka to leave Newcastle this summer and start over at Celtic.
Dubravka was very important to Newcastle’s season when Nick Pope was hurt, but Eddie Howe may not have high hopes for the Slovakian international because of his ties to Burnley’s James Trafford.
As a fan favorite, Joe Hart is leaving Celtic Park and leaving big shoes to fill in Glasgow. Sutton compared Dubravka’s career to Hart’s when he moved north of the line, saying that both were in a similar place in their careers.
She wrote in the Daily Record, “At 35 years old, he probably has one more big move in him.” “He has played a lot for Newcastle in the past year, but he won’t be the first choice.”
It’s possible that he saw what Hart did at Celtic and wants to do the same thing. What should he do? Does he stay put and play as a backup for his last year at Newcastle, or does he move down in England to get regular games?
“Or does he come to Celtic, play every week, and have a chance to win an award while also playing in the Champions League?” I already know what I’ll do.
In any case, Newcastle would probably want to get rid of Dubravka before June 30 in order to balance their books and follow PSR rules. However, the goalkeeper has made it clear that he wants to focus on EURO 2024 before thinking about his future.
