Manchester City
Former footballer Tony Cascarino gave a key reason why Manchester City will still win the Premier League this season despite Liverpool’s leading in the title race
City will have to work hard this season to win the Premier League for the fifth year in a row.
Their league start has been pretty good so far, with 14 points out of a possible 18.
Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium and Newcastle United at St. James’ Park were the last two games that Manchester City played in the league. Both ended in draws.
Both of those games were always going to be tough, but City is still in a good spot right now.
Most of the talk about the title race has been about City and Arsenal, since they’ve played each other twice in the last two years.
But Liverpool is currently in first place in the league after a great start under new boss Arne Slot.
TalkSPORT commentator Tony Cascarino has now said what he thinks about the race for the title after the Reds’ good start.
There is still hope for Tony Cascarino that Manchester City will win the Premier League in 2018.
This season’s race for the title could be one of the best ever.
In the past two years, Mikel Arteta has helped Arsenal make a lot of progress. Many people think that 2024–25 could be their year.
But City has been there many times and won the T-shirt. An expert named Paul Merson even thinks that City is still the favorite to beat the Gunners.
It’s possible that Guardiola is the best boss ever, and his team will be there again.
In terms of the title race, Liverpool hasn’t been talked about that much. This is mostly because they have Arne Slot in charge now that Jurgen Klopp has left.
Right now, the Reds have 15 points, which is more than anything else in the league.
Cascarino liked what they gave him. He still thinks City is the team to beat, though.
Yesterday, he said on talkSPORT, “Let’s get it straight: Liverpool was in the title race last season!” It was fine until the very end.
“Can they go one step further than last year?” I still believe that City can beat anyone. I will always do. That’s because they are the ones who show up in February, March, and April and get the work done.
“Can that happen with Liverpool, Arsenal, or even Chelsea?”
Liverpool should watch out for Man City
Liverpool has looked pretty good at times this season, but they lost at home to Nottingham Forest, which was a surprise, and they didn’t play well against Wolves over the weekend.
But the fact that they’ve only given up two goals so far shows that they should be taken seriously.
Their midfield is also very good, with Ryan Gravenberch looking like he has now really settled in. Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, and Mo Salah are all great players.
It’s possible that this will be the hardest season for City to win the Premier League title in a long time.
Last season, Arsenal almost won, but City just barely won in the end.
Fans of City will just hope that Pep can find a way to fill in for Rodri while he is out, and they will also be crossing their fingers that Erling Haaland can stay healthy for the whole season.
