Despite the fact that negotiations between United and Newcastle are still taking place, Shearer is certain that an agreement will be reached in the near future.

During an appearance on the podcast Rest is Football, the legendary player from Newcastle stated, “He [Ratcliffe] is running the football operations, so he has made his intentions known.”

Jason Wilcox, who hails from Southampton, is currently present in that room. He is accompanied by [Dave] Brailsford in that room. He is going to bring Dan Ashworth amidst them. All that remains is for time to pass. There will be a deal reached. Regardless of whether or not they are required to pay the amount that they desired, a deal will be reached with Newcastle.

Prior to the opening of the summer transfer window, Manchester United is intent on acquiring Dan Ashworth. Alan Shearer, a former striker for Newcastle, is of the opinion that it is very likely that the sporting director will go from St. James’ Park to Old Trafford in the near future.

Since becoming a co-owner of Manchester United, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has appointed a few team members, including Omar Berrada, Jason Wilcox, and Sir David Brailsford, among others.

It is necessary for United to negotiate a compensation deal with Newcastle in order to secure the services of the highly regarded Dan Ashworth, despite the fact that they have already identified the sporting director they want to work for the club.

According to The Times, Newcastle is requesting financial compensation in the amount of fifteen million pounds for Ashworth’s signature.

Ashworth has been placed on gardening leave at St. James’ Park, and the two Premier League clubs have been in discussions for some time now.
