Former Ronaldo’s coach at Real Madrid gave a shocking answer when asked who was a better footballer between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi
In the GOAT debate, Jose Mourinho had to choose between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. When asked to choose between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, Jose Mourinho gave a very interesting answer.
Ronaldo played for Real Madrid and scored a record-setting 450 goals in nine seasons while being coached by Mourinho.
But when he was in charge at the Santiago Bernabeu, the competition with Barcelona for El Clasico was at its peak.
After all the times Messi scared Real, Mourinho saw him as his number one enemy. But the Portuguese manager had his own opinion on the GOAT debate between the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner and Ronaldo.
And the 61-year-old couldn’t tell them apart. He thinks their amazing accomplishments “set the bar really high.”
“There are good and bad things about being from the same generation,” he said on RT’s “On the Touchline with Jose Mourinho.”
They’re lucky that they can play against each other. “They see each other in a good light and get extra motivation from each other.”
They would have ten Golden Boots if there was only one of them. He also said, “Now I think they’ve set the bar really high.”
You also have the players behind you, whom I like to call the “little monsters.”The bar has to be very high for Neymar, Kylian Mbappé, and Antoine Griezmann, which has to spark them a lot. Messi and Cristiano will not be together forever, which is a shame.
As Mourinho said on TNT Sports, “Of course I would say the little guy.” But the little guy wasn’t willing to learn. But I have to say that he was the best player of our time.
