The rumours linking Wilfried Nancy to Celtic continue, with speculation growing over the backroom staff he wants to bring to Parkhead. Celtic confirmed midweek that Martin O’Neill will remain as interim manager while the search for a permanent replacement progresses. An interview with Columbus Crew GM Issa Tall may help explain the delay in Nancy’s potential move.
Journalist Michael Gannon reports that discussions are progressing well and reveals the four key staff Nancy hopes to bring from Columbus Crew: his assistant Kwame Ampadu, coach Joan Damet, analyst Max Chalier, and fitness expert Jules Gueguen. Talks with Columbus over compensation are ongoing, which could be causing the slight delay.
Unlike managers such as Ange Postecoglou, Neil Lennon, and Ronny Deila, who inherited backroom teams, Nancy is reportedly keen to bring his own team to Celtic. According to Gannon, “There’s a lot of moving parts, but as far as I’m concerned, it’s progressing. I still expect it to go through.”
