Gabi Martinelli makes a shocking claim regarding his Arsenal teammate.
Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli has made a bold and startling claim about one of his Gunners
teammates that supporters are finding difficult to believe. Martinelli has consistently been a fan favourite at Arsenal, with fans associating the Brazilian with his terrifying pace. This was perhaps best exemplified during his famous breakaway goal against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in January 2020, a game in which the Gunners ultimately drew 2-2 despite being reduced to 10 men. Martinelli has acknowledged that he does not see himself as the fastest player at the club, and has instead identified a teammate as the Gunners’ favourite player, despite the terrifying pace. This revelation has left fans in a state of astonishment.
In a recent interview, the Brazilian was asked who was the second-fastest player at the club, presuming that Martinelli was the fastest. He responded, “I believe Kieran Tierney is quicker than me, to be fair!” I believe he is the first and I am the second-fastest. Tierney, like Martinelli, has been a fan favourite at the club since his August 2019 arrival from Scottish giants Celtic, which cost Arsenal £25m (€30m). However, the Scotsman has rapidly fallen out of the pecking order in North London after an injury-plagued time with the club.
