Manchester City’s dismal performance, stating that it is the worst he has observed since Pep Guardiola’s inaugural season in command. With a 4-0 home loss to Tottenham, the Premier League title holders extended Guardiola’s worst-ever losing sequence to five games.

 

 

This was also the largest home league defeat of his eight-year tenure. Neville compared City’s decline to the team that finished 15 points behind the top in Guardiola’s inaugural season, the sole year they have failed to finish in the top two during his tenure.

 

This defeat has kept them five points behind the top of the table, with the potential for eight points after Liverpool plays Southampton on Super Sunday.

 

“We’ve seen City lose the odd game here, but we’ve very rarely seen them outplayed in every department, but that’s what we’re watching,” according to him.

City had been defeated 2-1 at Brighton and thrashed 4-1 at Sporting in their last two games prior to the November internationals.

 

 

Despite their return to domestic football after a two-week hiatus, they were unable to halt their losing streak. This was the case entering Saturday’s game.
