Pep Guardiola has been compared to other great managers ever since he took over as manager of Barcelona in 2008.
When Guardiola was in Spain, he often played against Jose Mourinho, who was the manager of Real Madrid at the time. The two had one of the fiercest rivalries in recent managing history.
The man who makes £378,846 a week beat Mourinho at first; he won the double in Mourinho’s first season as manager of the team from Madrid, where Mourinho had only won the Copa del Rey.
But in his second season, the legendary Portuguese player got back at the Catalan tactician by taking Real Madrid to their first La Liga title since 2008 and a Copa del Rey win.
Guardiola, on the other hand, won more trophies at his clubs than Mourinho did. He won three league wins, two Champions Leagues, two Copa del Rey trophies, and other awards.
Both of them failed to win the league, and the second one still failed to win Europe after the Spanish player left.
Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola have been rivals since they were both in Germany, but it was in England that the two of the best managers in Premier League history had what was probably the best match-up ever.
Guardiola will be in charge of Manchester City for the ninth season. Klopp, on the other hand, left Liverpool in the summer.
During their eight-year rivalry, people have had different ideas about which boss is really better.
