“Get bigger” – Former Celtic coach Neil Lennon blast pundit Graeme Souness over his criticism comment about Celtic F.C with a strong message

The difference between Celtic and Rangers was a hot topic this season, which was different from last year.

Rangers came very close to beating Celtic at Parkhead, but Brendan Rodgers led his team to victory in one of the closest races Celtic has had in a few years.

Before the last two Glasgow Derby games, Rangers were seen as the favorites, and rumors spread that Celtic would drop out of the running.

But after a 3-3 tie at Ibrox, Celtic won 2-1 at Celtic Park. That, along with Rangers’ losses to Ross County and Dundee, made it the Hoops’ third straight title win, which caused huge celebrations over the weekend.

What Graeme Souness said about the two teams after his old team lost at Parkhead, though, got most of the attention.

Lennon didn’t believe Souness’s story about Celtic vs. Rangers.
The former Rangers boss told himself that there isn’t such a big gap between Celtic and Rangers as other people think.

It was Souness’s strong defense of his old team that he said, “Okay, forget the point.” I can’t even remember what the first game was, but the last three have been 3-3, 2-1, and 2-1. The two 2-1 games were when Rangers went to ten men, does that mean they’re very different?

“If the six points aren’t enough for you, use the head-to-head to judge it.”

Jim White asked Neil Lennon what he thought of Souness’ claim this afternoon on talkSPORT:

White: “The other day, Graeme Souness told Simon and me that there isn’t much between Rangers and Celtic.”That was not true. What do you think about that?”

Lennon replied, “I mean, I agree with that.” I think the gap will get bigger now that Celtic has the money to play in the Champions League.

“Look, Jim, I’ve watched the games, and every time, Celtic has taken the lead and been pretty comfortable throughout the games.”

“I think Rangers need to answer those questions about style of play and getting new players.”

“They were pretty close to Celtic for a while, but you always got the sense that Celtic would win in the end because they are better and have been playing better more consistently over the last few months.”

These are the cold, hard facts. In the first game of the season, Celtic went to Ibrox with a makeshift defense, but Rodgers still got all three points for his team.

The next two games were played without Cameron Carter-Vickers and Reo Hatate, and Callum McGregor came on as a substitute in the second half of the Ibrox draw. However, the Celtic boss still managed to get four points out of a possible six.

The last game between the two teams was very easy for Celtic because they were ahead by two goals at halftime.

Rangers hasn’t really put Celtic to the test in these games. All Parkhead has done is show that they can win big games even without their best players.

It’s not just a gap; it’s a chasm, and it’ll probably get even bigger when Brendan Rodgers plays better in the summer.
