Green Brigade hit back at Celtic ban with pointed message to CEO

The Green Brigade appear to have defied the stadium ban imposed by Celtic, making their presence felt in support of the team.

The group has been among the most outspoken critics of the Celtic board and maintains that they have been subjected to collective punishment following an incident in the concourse during the Falkirk match earlier this season.

Earlier in the week, interim chairman Brian Wilson called for unity, while Martin O’Neill offered to help mediate between the club and supporter groups. However, it was confirmed on Wednesday night that no approach had been made by the club to either the Green Brigade or the wider Celtic Collective.

Positioned at the corner of the Jock Stein Stand and the Main Stand, the supporters displayed a clear message calling on chief executive Michael Nicholson to accept responsibility and step down.

Nicholson had previously appointed Paul Tisdale, who was heavily involved in the ill-fated appointment of Nancy. Although both individuals have since departed, Nicholson remains in post, prompting continued calls for accountability from sections of the support.

While frustrations remain high, many fans will be hoping for reconciliation.

With a title challenge still to be fought, there is a growing desire for all parties to come together in support of the team during the second half of the season.

If Celtic can engage constructively with supporter groups, improve communication and rebuild trust, it is expected that collective action would be dropped.

Ideally, common ground can be found quickly, allowing everyone connected with the club to pull in the same direction in pursuit of success.
