Gyokeres move, £60 million chase: Three new players give Manchester United their dream team.

If Man United’s summer trade window goes as planned, their best starting eleven could look very different.

On Tuesday night at 7 p.m., the summer transfer window will briefly close. This will give Manchester United a chance to reflect on the steady progress they have made so far.

Because of the new Club World Cup rules, the window opened earlier than normal. It will be open again on Monday, August 28, and will stay open until September 1.

United made their mark on this summer’s transfer window right away. They announced the signing of Wolves’ Matheus Cunha just 14 hours after the window opened on June 1. United paid the £62.5 million release fee for him and he now plays at Old Trafford.

Even though United probably won’t get any new players before Tuesday’s deadline, that doesn’t mean that the people who make decisions will sit back and do nothing until the window opens again. They will, in fact, do the exact opposite.

The Manchester Evening News said last week that United had shown interest in Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo and made an initial offer of £55 million, but it was turned down.

United offered £45 million up front and an extra £10 million in add-ons. It is thought that Brentford is holding out for a fee similar to what United paid for Cunha. This means that a fee of around £60m could be needed to make an agreement.

But if United are able to get the Cameroonian and bring him to Old Trafford, he is likely to play as the No. 10 on the right side against Chelsea. Cunha is likely to play as the No. 10 on the left side.

Since Mbeumo and Cunha are likely to play in the two spots meant for playmakers, Bruno Fernandes and Amad will be sent to other areas of the field. They can both play in different positions, which is good because they can both play in the middle of the field and on the right wing.
