“He too good for Celtic” – 52 years-old football coach Neil Lennon speaks out and reminds Celtic Fc on what Matt O’Riley means to the club amid rumors about his transfer
It has been made quite apparent by Neil Lennon that Matt O’Riley is simply “too good” for Celtic to release during the transfer window that occurs in January.
Because of Matt O’Riley’s performances, Celtic are currently in first place in the Scottish Premiership standings. This is undoubtedly one of the primary reasons for their success.
In an interview with Viaplay Sport (21 January 24 at 3:40 pm), Neil Lennon stated that the 23-year-old player has most likely been the “outstanding individual” in Scotland this season.
Not only has the quick-thinking midfielder been successful in the domestic stage or when playing against Rangers, but he has also been successful in the Champions League on multiple occasions.
Not to mention that outrageously superb assist that Gustaf Lagerbielke used to score the game-winning goal against Feyenoord, those link-ups with Kyogo Furuhashi who played in Europe were nothing short of brilliant.
Those were merely additional indications of the brilliance of Matt O’Riley, which is the reason why the Parkhead faithful adore him so much.
However, Neil Lennon was fairly clear about what he believed about his future, despite the fact that interest in the Denmark international player was growing.
What is ahead for Matt O’Riley at Celtic
On O’Riley’s statement that he is content with his position at Celtic, Lennon stated, “I fully expected that.” It would be irresponsible to let him go out of the game.
Let’s take a look at the situation at the conclusion of the season. From Celtic’s perspective, it is hoped that they will be having the expectation of winning another championship.
“However, he has really thrived throughout this season, not only in terms of his goals but also in terms of his assists. Even in the most important matches, such as those in the Champions League and between Rangers. Over the course of this season, he has most likely been the most impressive individual player in the league.
I believe that he has developed into a player of the highest caliber over the course of this year.
It is not possible for Matt O’Riley to leave.
There were even rumors that O’Riley was going to leave during the summer, but he decided to keep his head down, perform, and also sign a new concert contract.
This demonstrates that Celtic supporters have nothing to be concerned about during this final week of the January transfer window, even if other teams are interested in acquiring his skills of any kind.
Additionally, while there is a lot of debate about Celtic needing to bring in proven quality players in order to advance in Europe?
It is also important for those in positions of authority to keep in mind that players like O’Riley must remain with the club for an extended period of time in order for the club to achieve success in the Champions League.
