Derek McInnes was left furious after Hearts conceded an early goal to Celtic at Tynecastle, reacting angrily to a comment from the visitors’ dugout. Benjamin Nygren had given the champions the lead with a stunning free kick just four minutes into the match as they looked to close the gap at the top of the Premiership table.
The Hearts boss took exception to a shout from the Celtic bench and stormed into the visitors’ technical area to voice his frustration. McInnes was quickly pulled away by fourth official Calum Scott as tensions flared on the touchline.
Images from the incident show McInnes pointing angrily towards a member of Martin O’Neill’s coaching staff, while Shaun Maloney attempted to calm the situation as Celtic players celebrated the opener.
