“Here we go” – Sport journalist Fabrizio Romano delivers a transfer update how Manchester City have officially agreed to sell defender for £21m

During the summer transfer window, Manchester City spent a lot of money on a few players.

During the summer transfer window, City has moved Sergio Gomez, Liam Delap, Tommy Doyle, and Taylor Harwood-Bellis to different teams.

Pep Guardiola’s team has also loaned out other players to teams in England and other parts of Europe in the past.

While Manchester United is on their pre-season tour of the United States, some behind-the-scenes information about another player who seems likely to be leaving the Etihad Stadium has come to light.

Romano says that Man City and Borussia Dortmund have agreed to sell Yan Couto.

Fabrizio Romano recently wrote this on his public X account about the subject.

“Yan Couto to Borussia Dortmund, here we go!” A verbal deal has been made for BVB to sign a former Girona right back.

“Add-ons will make the package worth €25m (£21m), and Couto has agreed to a long-term deal.” He’s going to have to travel this week for medical reasons.

It was smart for City to sell Couto.

Before they got Couto, City had loaned him to teams like Braga and Girona. He came to City from the Brazilian club Cortitba in 2020.

Last season, the right back played 34 La Liga games during his second stint with Girona. He scored one goal and set up ten others.

In May, it was said that Guardiola had no plans to use the back with City this coming season. This is likely why Dortmund is trying to get a deal for him.

We think it’s a great business move for City to sell a player who hasn’t played for the first team at all for such a large amount of money.

Coming up, with the summer transfer window coming to an end, it will be interesting to see what the Blues do with the money they got for the players they sold.
