Hidden reason why Arsenal 25-year-old midfielder Martin Odegaard did not celebrate Kai Havertz’s goal against Wolves
Arsenal fans have observed that club captain Martin Odegaard did not applaud Kai Havertz’s opening goal against Wolves on Saturday.
Martin Odegaard was too preoccupied with his duties to participate in the jubilation that ensued after Kai Havertz scored against Wolverhampton Wanderers. He instead chose to listen to the instructions of manager Mikel Arteta.
In the inaugural match of the 2024/25 Premier League season, the Arsenal captain guided his team to a 2-0 victory at the Emirates Stadium, thereby launching their title campaign on a high note.
Arsenal’s inaugural goal was scored by Havertz in the 25th minute, as he headed in a Bukayo Saka cross. Subsequently, his teammates encircled him in a show of celebration. Nevertheless, Odegaard was conspicuously absent from the celebratory scene. Rather, the Norwegian international was observed running to the touchline, where he was documented on camera engaging in a hurried conversation with Arteta.
Many Arsenal supporters expressed admiration for their captain’s dedication, even in the midst of a goal celebration, as they promptly praised his concentration. Arsenal’s bench cam video, which was posted on their YouTube channel, emphasized the moment, prompting supporters to express their approbation.
One admirer expressed their admiration for the manner in which Odegaard immediately approached Arteta to obtain additional instructions following the first goal. Another individual commented, “We are celebrating a goal, and Odegaard rushes to Arteta to obtain additional instructions and clarifications.” The greatest team, the greatest captain, and the finest manager of all time!
In the second half, Saka doubled Arsenal’s lead, garnering Martin Odegaard’s praise for the young England star’s limitless potential. Odegaard stated, “This individual lacks a roof.”
“It is truly remarkable the level of quality and professionalism he possesses, as well as the dedication and passion he puts into the game on a daily basis.” For him, the world is the limit. I am simply delighted to have him as a member of my team, and it is imperative that we continue to provide him with support and encouragement as he strives to develop. I am exceedingly pleased for him.
Arsenal is purportedly in pursuit of Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino as their next acquisition, following the arrivals of David Raya and Riccardo Calafiori, with just over a week remaining in the transfer window. Although a striker is also on the club’s agenda, it is uncertain whether the Gunners will be able to negotiate a deal for a top forward before the window closes on Friday, August 30.
