How Coventry City prevented Frank Lampard from joining a Premier League club recently

Coventry City are fully intent on keeping manager Frank Lampard at the club following his outstanding start to the season.

The Sky Blues currently hold a commanding 10-point lead at the top of the Championship and have suffered only one defeat in their first 18 league matches.

Lampard was briefly linked with the Rangers job earlier this year, but insiders now say Coventry have no intention of entertaining any approach for him.

After more than two decades outside the Premier League, the club believes this could finally be the season they return to the top flight.

Premier League interest grows – but Coventry won’t budge

Any attempt from a Premier League side to lure Lampard away would be swiftly rejected by the high-flying Midlands club.

Lampard’s team continued their strong run with a 3–1 win over Charlton on Saturday, marking their fifth straight league victory. Coventry’s impressive form has put them firmly in the spotlight, and their manager is attracting attention as well. According to Football Insider, several Premier League teams already have Lampard “on their radar”.
