How Newcastle United F.C can finish at fifth (5th) position in the Premier league table

For sixth place in the Premier League, Newcastle United and Manchester United are in a very close race. The winner will go to the Europa League next season.

The Magpies, led by Eddie Howe, can still finish fifth, but Tottenham would have to lose a lot of games in the last few weeks for that to happen. There is a lot that could rest on the game between the two teams at Old Trafford on May 15. Before that, the Magpies want to keep the pressure on by playing at Burnley and at home against Brighton.

Next Monday night, Manchester United plays at Crystal Palace. The next night, they host Arsenal, who is also in the running for the title. Even though they tied 1-1 with second-placed Burnley last weekend, manager Erik ten Hag is still positive. He told Match of the Day, “Right now, we are one of the most exciting and dynamic teams in the league.” We have a lot of chances because we’re playing great football. It’s strange that when it’s up to us, every team gives up chances.

That’s not true, as Alan Shearer quickly pointed out on this week’s episode of The Rest is Football. Newcastle will go to Old Trafford with confidence because they have already beaten Manchester United twice this season, including a 3-0 win in the Carabao Cup. Shearer hasn’t seen much to back up Ten Hag’s claim.

“No, they’re not,” he replied to Ten Hag’s words. “You have no idea which team will show up.” It’s hard to tell what they’ll do because one week they do well and the next they do terrible. It’s not true.

Although it’s not hard to do these days, Burnley played great at Old Trafford and breezed through Man United. They could have scored five or six goals if they had taken their chances.

If Manchester United beats Manchester City in the FA Cup final later this month, they could still make it to the Europa League. This could hurt Newcastle’s chances.
