Hull City star delivers warning to Sheffield Wednesday ahead of vital derby showdown

Semi Ajayi has stressed that Hull City must learn from their costly mistakes after a disappointing performance against West Bromwich Albion, as they prepare to face Sheffield Wednesday.

The Tigers return to the MKM Stadium this weekend for their final match before the international break, taking on a struggling Wednesday side. Despite the Owls sitting at the bottom of the table and picking up just two points since their last meeting, Ajayi insists there is no room for complacency.

The Nigerian international warned that the EFL Championship offers no easy fixtures, emphasizing that any drop in standards could be punished. He expects a tough contest and says Hull must be fully prepared to match their opponents’ intensity.

Hull know firsthand how resilient Wednesday can be, having been held to a 2-2 draw at Hillsborough on Boxing Day after twice coming from behind. While the recent defeat to West Brom was a setback, Ajayi believes a full week on the training ground will help the squad regroup and correct their errors.

With just eight games left in the season, Hull remain focused on securing a play-off spot and keeping their promotion hopes alive. However, Ajayi made it clear that the immediate priority is Saturday’s clash, with the team determined to deliver a much-improved performance.
