Diego Simeone Weeps While Discussing Atletico Madrid’s Future: “I Am At Peace” After a 2-1 comeback victory over Alaves on Saturday, Diego Simeone was asked about his long-term future and choked up while discussing his affection for Atletico Madrid.

Currently, the Argentine is the longest-serving coach in Spain’s top division, having been overseeing Atletico’s dugout since December 2011.Simeone has consistently been distinguished by his all-black attire and the combative fervor he exudes on the sideline.

He barks orders to his players and, particularly during home games, gestures for the fans to give it their all to support their team.

He is also recognized for adhering to his “game by game” approach to a season, refraining from commenting on any match other than the next on the calendar.

However, the 54-year-old former midfielder demonstrated a new, more sensitive side on Saturday when he was unable to continue during a post-game interview with correspondents and former Atletico player Juanfran Torres.

The on-field interview with DAZN was intended to be an extended conversation; however, Simeone abruptly terminated it due to an emotive response to a journalist’s inquiry regarding his feelings regarding the standard sports discourse regarding

Atletico’s future actions upon his departure. “I am experiencing the present moment.” Simeone stated, “My players are diligently interpreting our requirements and desires.”

However, complications ensued. “I am at ease.” I am at ease. “I am in the location that I desire,” he stated before halting as his voice abruptly broke.

He then managed to add, “I love, I love the place where I am,” before he dropped his head and said, “And that’s it, ciao,” while rapidly walking away and transferring the microphone to Juanfran.

The club has not made any public statements regarding a coaching change, nor have there been any rumors in the local sports press that point in his direction. Simeone is under contract until June 2027.
