Marchand disclosed to ESPN’s Greg Wyshynski that he did not anticipate that his final game as a Bruin would be his final game with the Original Six club.

Marchand informed Wyshynski, “I sustained an injury prior to my trade.” “The final game I will ever play in a Bruins jersey was not the final game I anticipated playing in a Bruins jersey.”

On March 1, Marchand played his farewell game for the Bruins against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
