Adam Idah has disclosed that Swansea City’s interest was only disclosed to him one day prior to Celtic’s match against Rangers. He has called the subsequent days a frenzy.
On deadline day, the Championship team acquired the Irish striker for £7 million, terminating his tenure in Glasgow after a period that resulted in both goals and trophies.
The absence of his replacement resulted in a dearth of attacking options for Brendan Rodgers’ team, which frustrated supporters.
Idah acknowledged that his initial reaction to the transfer was to remain at Celtic and compete for his position. However, following discussions with Swansea, he determined that the opportunity provided a fresh start and the potential to contribute significantly to their initiative.
Idah asserts that his discussions with Celtic officials and Swansea staff persuaded him that the transfer was the appropriate course of action for his career.
“It was outrageous,” he stated (RecordSport). I likely discovered the information the day prior to the game, which was a bit of a whirlwind week, to be honest. It will be a new beginning for me. I have conversed with the personnel and the boys.
“I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Celtic.” Initially, I was hesitant to depart Celtic. I was eager to compete for my position. I aspired to excel in that environment.
“However, Swansea has an exceptional project, and I am acquainted with several of their personnel.” Their assessment of my potential contributions to the team is something I am eager to pursue.
“After consulting with Celtic’s personnel, it appeared to be appropriate.” I am eagerly anticipating my visit to Swansea.
The situation developed rapidly, as evidenced by Idah’s comments, and the transfer occurred at the very end of the transfer window. Celtic was unable to replace him in time due to the scheduling, which placed them in a difficult position.
Idah emphasised his love for Celtic and emphasised the importance of the time he spent at Parkhead, despite his departure. Rodgers’ team was able to secure trophies as a result of his 20 goals last season, many of which were scored from the sideline.
