At Old Trafford, during the first half of Manchester United’s match against Tottenham, which ended in a 2-2 draw, Alejandro Garnacho made a request for a penalty kick.

Erik ten Hag is of the opinion that Manchester United was not awarded a penalty kick in their match against Tottenham, which is the most recent of a string of decisions that have been on their side this season.

Garnacho made a request for a penalty kick after he went down as a result of a drag from Tottenham left-back Destiny Udogie. The game was tied 1-1 at the end of the first half, but referee John Brooks chose to disregard the Argentine’s objections.

Spurs grabbed a draw and remained eight points clear of United in the Premier League table. United finished the half with a 2-1 lead, but Spurs conceded fifty seconds after the restart. Spurs are now eight points ahead of United.

Ten Hag noted that Garnacho was not awarded a penalty kick during the other match, which took place against Tottenham and resulted in a 2-0 loss for United in August. In the first half of the match, when there was no goal scored, Garnacho’s shot that was headed in the direction of the goal was blocked by Cristian Romero.

In response to the question of whether or not he was shocked when the Video Assistant Referee did not stop the home game versus the Spurs, Ten Hag offered, “Yes.” But what can you do to help it?

“However, I have become accustomed to this during the entire season. During the Spurs game, there was a clear handball committed by Cristian Romero, and I could list a number of other incidents. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that things will work out in our favor at some time during the season.

It was only United’s second league draw of the season, and it came against Spurs, which ended in a 2-2 draw. However, after 21 games, United has lost nine and won ten. As of the current season, they have not been able to defeat Tottenham in the league for the first time since the 2013–14 campaign.

United only had 36% possession of the ball, and the only shots on target that they had were from Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford. Tottenham was able to maintain control of the game despite the fact that they were without five regulars from their front six.
