Celtic
In the month of June, Celtic F.C makes a shocking move to sign a top forward who is a sensational player for the Euro 2024 tournament
Given that Euro 2024 will begin on Friday night, it is reasonable to assume that the Celtic scouting department will be keeping a careful eye on the competition in order to identify any possible players that may emerge during the course of the competition.
After it was revealed yesterday that Martin Dubravka, a player for Newcastle United, and Flavius Daniliuc, a defender for Salernitana, will be participating in the tournament, Brendan Rodgers has already been associated with two players who will be attending the competition.
As a result, it is evident that Celtic are already being associated with players who are making their way to Germany this week, even before the big tournament kicks off.
And it would appear that those connections are going to continue as an update was made available last night regarding an international striker who Celtic is also rumored to be interested in adding to their roster.
At what point will Celtic make their bid to get Tommy Conway?
The day before yesterday, we talked about how Tommy Conway is expected to quit Bristol City after he turned down a new contract with the Ashton Gate club.
To add insult to injury, the Daily Record reports that Celtic will make their approach in January, but only if he chooses to extend his contract beyond its expiration date.
The present head coach, Liam Manning, has referred to Conway as “very good.” It is expected that Conway’s contract would expire at the end of the following season, and due to the rules governing cross-border transfers, Brendan Rodgers may be able to acquire his services for as little as 300,000 pounds.
Back in April, Rotherham manager Steve Evans made a statement that suggested the ‘talented’ Bristol City striker would be interested in joining Celtic. This statement led to speculation that Conway would be joining Celtic.
Conway has been thrown into the spotlight as a result of his 12-goal season, which caused him to be a late addition to Steve Clarke’s Euro 2024 squad. Additionally, Lyndon Dykes had an injury, which also contributed to his inclusion.
A issue for Celtic can be found in this very fact. Should the 21-year-old get his chance at the tournament and excel, he will have plenty of suitors lined up to take him away from the Championship club and ruin Celtic’s hopes of receiving a bargain deal. If the club is intent on waiting until January before making their move, then the 21-year-old will have plenty of suitors waiting to take him away.
