Interim Manager Stevie Smith has provided his main reason for his team selection for Rangers’ clash against Dundee United.

The Scottish Premiership will be played at Ibrox, where Dundee United will be under the interim leadership of the under-19s head coach, following Russell Martin’s dismissal.

The 39-year-old’s employment was terminated as a result of a 1-1 draw with Falkirk during his most recent match. Smith has implemented three modifications to the starting lineup today as a result of that impasse. Jayden Meghoma, Thelo Aasgaard, and Oliver Antman replace Nasser Djiga, Connor Barron, and Mikey Moore, who withdraw. Smith stated to BBC Sportsound prior to the encounter, “It was a difficult decision because a number of the players trained exceptionally well and presented me with a challenge.”

“The training performances of certain players actually astounded me.” A portion of them have enrolled in the team. It was a difficult decision to make.

However, I am confident that the team I have assembled will be able to achieve a victory today. The game is scheduled to commence at 3 p.m. this afternoon.

Brian Gilmour, Rhys Owen, and Sal Bibbo will provide Smith with assistance in the dugout. Rangers’ confirmed starting lineup: Butland, Tavernier, Souttar, Cornelius, Meghoma, Rothwell, Raskin, Aasgaard, Antman, Gassama, Miovski. Kelly, Aarons, Barron, Chermiti, Bajrami, Cameron, Djiga, Moore, and Curtis comprise the substitutes.
