“it really isn’t the case” Brendan Rodgers addresses the rumour about the ‘conflict’ he is having with Celtic board and delivers a strong message on the issue at hand

Brendan Rodgers has been conducting interviews with the media in anticipation of the match against Livingston on Saturday.

After the disappointing 0-0 stalemate with Kairat Almaty in the Champions League play-off first leg, the Hoops will host Livi at Celtic Park this weekend.

Fans exclaimed “sack the board” both during and after the game, attributing the poor outcome to the Celtic hierarchy in the context of an underwhelming transfer window.

Rodgers has affirmed that there is no unrest between him and the board, despite his urgent need for new signings to enhance the quality of his squad.

Rodgers and the Celtic directors are not in conflict.
The Northern Irishman reiterated that he and the directors are committed to the success of the football club, and he provided an explanation of the transfer “cycle” he aspires to see at Celtic.

Rodgers stated, “People attempt to identify a conflict between me and the board or me and whoever; however, this is not the case.”

“You are aware that the football club’s board has successfully managed the financial aspects of the game for many years and has operated the club with meticulous precision.”

“My role as the football manager is to genuinely motivate and encourage us to maintain a cycle in which we acknowledge that we will lose some players, but that it does not have the significant impact that it occasionally does.”

“And that we can simply lose significant players and then recruit new ones, rather than waiting.” Therefore, I desire for us to be in that cycle; however, there is undoubtedly no conflict.

“We all at this club, from the board to myself, aspire to achieve the highest possible level of excellence.”

Rodgers once more discusses his contractual concerns.

Rodgers subsequently stated that he is not considering the long-term vision at Celtic in terms of his future; rather, he seeks to concentrate on the present.

He continued, “I do not consider myself to be a manager in the long term.”

“With the commencement of the season, my thoughts are exclusively focused on football.” I prefer not to contemplate the contract. If it does, simply consider the football, and it will be resolved at a later time.

Rodgers responded with a resounding “yes” when asked whether he would contemplate leaving the position, as he did in February 2019, when he joined Leicester City.

He replied, “There is no possibility.” There is no possibility. There is no possibility! We have previously addressed that matter. It was not well received.

“So, no, no, listen, I have been clear from the very beginning. There are no hidden messages, and there is no this and that.” I declared that I would remain in this location for three years. I have been residing here for three years.
