“it won’t be easy” – Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola delivers honest verdict on their final match ahead vs West Ham to secure them the premier league title
Pep Guardiola is feeling good about Sunday’s game because of how his Manchester City players reacted in the locker room against Tottenham last week. However, he is still expecting “another Villa.”
City had a huge scare in North London, but they came out on top 2-0 in their 37th Premier League game of the season. They now go into their 38th and final game with the chance to make history by winning their fourth straight title.
If City beats West Ham, Arsenal can’t change the result of their game against Everton.
Erling Haaland scored both goals for City on Tuesday night, and he and his teammates celebrated them with a lot of energy. They knew how important the game was to their season as a whole. However, when they went inside after the game was over, Guardiola saw things that seemed more like normal.
Guardiola said, “I got a great sense of how the players at Spurs felt.” “They were so happy and relieved, but there weren’t any extra parties or anything like that.” There was nothing special about it; it was just another Premier League game for them.
Even though that has been good, the City boss is expecting another 90 minutes that will make him nervous. This weekend, City won the title in front of their own people in 2022, but only after a dramatic comeback against Aston Villa in the second half that turned a 2-0 deficit into a 3-2 win.
“Everyone would love to be in our shoes,” Guardiola said. “We only need to win one game to be champions.” It won’t be simple, though. It seems like it will be an Aston Villa game.
This is not going to happen. We would love to be up 3-0 in the first few minutes. We have seen enough West Ham games in the last few days and in the last game a few months ago. They have some things we need to fix. We only have two days to get ready for the last game, though.
