Jamie Carragher has criticised Mohamed Salah for his recent remarks regarding Liverpool, describing him as “selfish.
“Jamie Carragher called Mohamed Salah “selfish” for the way he handled his contract dispute with Liverpool and expressed his disappointment in the star forward following his explosive comments on Sunday.
is one of three essential Liverpool players who will be out of contract next summer, the other two being captain Virgil van Dijk and vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The 32-year-old was disappointed that he was not extended a new contract following his two goals in the victory over Southampton, which extended Liverpool’s lead in the Premier League to eight points.
In a rare interview with club reporters following the 3-2 victory at St Mary’s, Salah stated, “We are nearly in December and I have not yet received any offers to remain with the club.”
“I am likely more out than in.” Carragher criticised the timing of Salah’s remarks ahead of crucial fixtures against Real Madrid and Manchester City this week, despite praising him and admitting that he is “desperate” for both parties to reach an agreement.
