Javier Tebas has officially announced that La Liga has initiated proceedings to annul the registration of Dani Olmo.Javier Tebas,
the president of La Liga, has officially announced that an initiative has been undertaken to seek the annulment of the interim registration of Barcelona player Dani Olmo.In January, Barcelona was awarded an injunction by the Consejo Superior de Deportes (CSD) permitting the interim registration of both Olmo and Pau Victor,
pending a conclusive resolution regarding the ongoing situation. Tebas has unequivocally expressed his dissent regarding the current circumstances and has now indicated that La Liga is seeking to have Olmo’s registration annulled. “Government intervention does not convey a favourable impression.”
However, we have conducted ourselves in accordance with the principles of fair play and the regulations established by the federation. The CSD resolution indicates a lack of comprehension regarding the process by which licenses are granted. He informed El Pais that there exists an automated process. With the Olmo case, on 31st December, Barça told us: “We don’t have Fair Play”.
Subsequently, they endeavoured to update Olmo’s registration. We informed them that we are unable to proceed with the update, as it lacks the necessary authorisation for registration. “On January 3, the situation appeared equitable; however, it was subsequently determined that the player in question had been deregistered on the 31st and, therefore, is ineligible to obtain a new licence.”
What are the responsibilities of the monitoring committee? Examine the current circumstances, as FC Barcelona had submitted a formal request; however, the licence had already been declined. That concludes the matter. “We have submitted an appeal to the CSD.” We have formally requested a precautionary measure to effectuate the deregistration of Olmo.
A precautionary action to revoke the preceding precautionary action. The subsequent developments in the registration process remain uncertain. Barcelona is currently awaiting a definitive decision from the CSD, which is expected to be rendered by no later than April 7.
