Several players have already been mentioned as possible replacements for Hart, who could win his seventh trophy at Parkhead if Celtic successfully defends their Scottish Premiership title and Scottish Cup.

Several news outlets say that Arsenal goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, Motherwell’s Liam Kelly, and Southampton’s Alex McCarthy have all been named in dispatches.

Recently, Ugurcan Cakir of Trabzonspor was mentioned as another possible Hart replacement. Reports said that steps were being taken to make the move official, including talks with Hart’s management team and lawyer and a Zoom call between Rodgers and the player.

The Turkish player has played 40 times in all competitions, having 12 clean sheets, according to Transfermarkt.

According to FBRef, the 28-year-old has made 69.5% of saves on 131 shots on target in Super Lig games. While Cakir has given up an average of 1.32 goals per game.

According to reports, Celtic made an offer to Ugurcan Cakir.

Recently, a Turkish news outlet called Gunebakis said that Celtic have made a “serious offer” of around €7.5 million (£6.45 million) for Cakir, a goalkeeper from Antalya. His future at Trabzonspor is said to be unclear because he might leave the team where he grew up.

There are also rumors that Ligue 1 team Nantes and Serie A giants Roma want to sign him. Reports say that Saudi Pro League team Al-Ahli has also made an offer worth €10 million (£8.6 million).

Not knowing what the man in question’s future holds is hard to say, but it is interesting to see that Celtic’s respect for his skill hasn’t faded, even though they were worried about the possibility of a transfer.

Hart needs to be replaced by a top player, and getting someone with his experience at both the club and international levels would be a big signing that Celtic fans would support.

When it comes to hiring new players, Rodgers and his team have a lot of work to do before the transfer window starts in a few weeks.
