John Eustace admitted Derby County showed signs of fatigue after conceding a stoppage-time equaliser in a 1-1 draw with West Brom at Pride Park.
Derby went ahead just before the break when Patrick Agyemang turned in after Max O’Leary spilled Callum Elder’s free-kick.
However, Chris Mepham salvaged a point for the visitors by heading home a corner at the back post in added time.
Eustace praised his side’s effort but acknowledged the toll of a demanding schedule.
He said the players “looked leggy and tired” following two tough away trips earlier in the week, adding that despite the fatigue, his team were rarely threatened until the late goal.
