scored his 34th goal in the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona, surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal tally from his debut season. Barcelona emerged victorious in the Copa del Rey final in Seville, with Mbappé contributing to the team’s 3-2 victory over Real Madrid.
The 26-year-old, who transferred from Paris Saint-Germain to Real Madrid last summer, has been having an exceptional debut season, surpassing Ronaldo’s initial season at the club in terms of statistics. It is important to note that Ronaldo scored 33 goals in his debut season (2009-10) at Real Madrid, following his world-record transfer from Manchester United.
In the interim, Mbappé has scored 34 goals, which includes his remarkable free kick against the Blaugrana on Saturday night.
The attacking momentum of Real Madrid was significantly enhanced by the France captain’s introduction from the bench. In the 70th minute, Mbappé scored a clinical free-kick to bring Los Blancos equal, resulting in a 1-1 tie for Carlo Ancelotti’s team.

Nevertheless, Mbappé needs only four additional goals to surpass Iván Zamorano’s record for the most goals scored in a debut season for Real Madrid. After joining the club, the Chilean scored 37 goals during the 1992-93 season.
