La Liga “exploited their authority” in the de-registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, asserts investigative journalist.

An investigative journalist has asserted that La Liga “misused their authority” in the de-registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor.

FC Barcelona achieved a judicial victory, albeit a provisional one, as a Spanish court permitted the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor to participate in matches while awaiting a conclusive ruling.Javier Tebas, the president of La Liga, conveyed his disappointment regarding the court’s ruling, as his organisation had previously informed Barcelona that Olmo and

Víctor would be de-registered, rendering them ineligible to participate in any competitions for the latter half of the season. Jorge Calabrés, an investigative journalist affiliated with the Madrid-based publication El Español, has asserted that La Liga “exploited their authority” in the process of de-registering the two athletes.

In a tweet, Calabrés delineated a timeline of Barcelona’s interactions with La Liga, alleging that the league has altered its criteria in a manner that effectively obstructs Barcelona from registering its players. “Initially, it is communicated to Barça that the newly established contract with Nike will suffice.”

“Ultimately, it proves ineffective, prompting the pursuit of an alternative solution,” he states. He further states that a contract was executed on December 31st. At that time, Barcelona consented to the sale of VIP accommodations in return for a financial influx.

Calabrés has alleged that La Liga has requested superfluous documentation, insisted on reviewing an excessive amount of the funds that had already been transmitted, and promptly de-registered the players when the payment was not received until January 3rd. As articulated by Calabrés, La Liga exploits its authority to enforce salary restrictions in order to compel clubs to acquiesce on specific matters.

Historically, he asserts that Barcelona has been afforded greater leniency, ostensibly due to their collaborative engagement with Tebas. Conversely, on this occasion, they faced sabotage for failing to comply.

The specific nature of these issues is not elucidated. Calabrés concludes the post by stating that “interfering in the internal operations of a club in this manner poses significant risks to the integrity of football.” The incessant manipulation of regulations is sickening.”

La Liga has asserted that it is administering the regulations equitably and contends that judicial rulings should support its position in prohibiting the two players from participating for the Catalan club for the remainder of the season. A definitive judgement on the matter from the pertinent court is anticipated within a three-month timeframe.
