You would think that Celtic will be busy signing players this summer.

Fans want the team to get a lot of new players and get rid of players who aren’t helping.

Based on Transfermarkt, these are Celtic’s contracts that are coming to an end.

Players with contracts that will still be valid

For some reason, James McCarthy still has one year left on his deal. He saw Celtic stop a loan move for the player in January, even though the player hadn’t even been in a Hoops game this season and had only played a few times for the B Team.

Greg Taylor and Liam Scales’ contracts also end in 2025, but you’d expect the club to start talking to them about new deals. James Forrest’s contract is still in effect until then.

Celtic’s Deals That Are About to End

Joe Hart, an experienced goalkeeper who came from Tottenham Hotspur in 2021, has said he is leaving professional football. Because Hart left, Celtic needs to find a new goalie to fill the void.

Paulo Bernardo: Bernardo was on loan from Benfica with a rumored option to buy for around £6–7 million. He played well during a stretch in December and January. But his play hasn’t always been good enough to justify the possible transfer fee, so Celtic probably won’t use their purchase choice.

Adam Idah—The loan player from Norwich City arrived in January, but Celtic fans had low hopes for him because they had been hoping for a bigger name to join. Even so, Idah has done well in Scotland, though Kyogo Furuhashi is still the best scorer for the club. Idah’s loan deal doesn’t include a buy option, which means that Celtic could possibly negotiate a different deal if they want to keep him after the loan period is over.

Make a backup The Mystery Goalkeeper Scott Bain’s problem is solved. Some news stories said Bain’s deal was about to run out, but he has now signed a three-year extension that will keep him at Celtic Park until 2024. He will be committed to the club until the summer of 2026, which will give them security at goalkeeper now that Hart has retired.
