Here is the most up-to-date information on Man United injuries and return dates before their Europa League game against FC Twente on Wednesday night at Old Trafford.

When FC Twente comes to Old Trafford on Wednesday night, Manchester United will be looking to get off to a good start in the Europa League.

The Reds haven’t played the Dutch since 2019, so they’ll be eager to get back to winning ways after their goalless draw with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday. United hit Palace’s goal a lot, especially in the first half, but they couldn’t find a way through.

Even though United was upset, they kept a clean sheet for the third game in a row and were glad to see Rasmus Hojlund return from illness. The Dane played for the first time this season after coming off the bench in the second half.

In a new update on injuries, United boss Erik ten Hag said that he will choose from the same group of players that drew with Palace before their game against Twente. Still, he told them about Luke Shaw’s progress in getting better.

Injury to Leny Yoro: broken metatarsal

Yoro broke his metatarsal in the first game of United’s pre-season tour of the United States. He had just joined the team from Lille in France in July. It was thought that he might not be able to work for up to three months after surgery.

However, the Manchester Evening News stated earlier this month that he is thought to be walking without crutches, which is a good sign that his recovery is going well.

November could be a good time to come back.

Victor Lindelof hurt his toe

United took Lindelof off at halftime of their last preseason game against Liverpool in the United States. He hasn’t played for the team since. Ten Hag said that he hoped the Swede could “return quickly” before the loss to Brighton & Hove Albion last month.

However, the center-back hasn’t been picked for a single game this season, and it’s not clear when he will be ready again.

Possible date of return: Not known.

Luke Shaw hurt his calf.

Shaw would miss the beginning of the season because of a calf problem. The news came out just over 72 hours before United’s Premier League opener against Fulham. At the time, United said that he would be working toward his goal of coming back after the September international break.

The England player hasn’t played for United since February, though, so he wasn’t eligible for the recent games against Southampton, Barnsley, and Palace.

Ten Hag now thinks he might come back before or right after the October international break.

Ten Hag said Tuesday morning, “I think it’s probably, but I can’t say it’s for sure.” When asked if Shaw would be back next month, Shaw said, “I think it’s probably.” “The plan is just be back before but, as I say I can’t say this for 100 per cent for sure it can be short after the break.”

Possible return date: in the middle of October.

Tyrell Malacia hurt his knee.

Malacia hasn’t played for United since the last day of the 2022–23 Premier League season because he hurt his knee. He has been working hard on his recovery, and Ten Hag said at the beginning of August that he might be ready to compete again in a couple of months.

Ten Hag said, “He’s not that far off, but he’s making progress right now.” Quite quickly, he can start working with the team again and then play for the team in games. I believe I could be available again in two months.

Last week, video of Malacia working out harder at the gym showed up on social media. This makes it look like he is getting closer to making his long-awaited comeback. United has put him on their Europa League team for the league stage of the tournament.

October is a possible return date.
