Latest Transfer News: Manchester United makes Drastic step to sign 23-year-old Celtic midfielder that everyone is after his signature
The fight for the services of Celtic’s top midfielder, Matt O’Riley, is heating up in the days leading up to the summer transfer window, and Manchester United has joined the fray.
United has been keeping an eye on the 23-year-old player since 2022, and as his stock continues to grow, the Premier League giant is now actively evaluating the possibility of acquiring him.
Atletico Madrid made a winter offer, which Celtic turned down because they were unwilling to trade the player in the middle of the season. This interest comes after Atletico Madrid made said offer.
In addition to these two football powerhouses, Inter Milan, a mainstay of Serie A, and Girona, a team from La Liga, have also indicated a strong interest in O’Riley, which has made the competition for his signature even more intense. [Graham World, as reported by The Mirror]
There is a high probability that Celtic will request a record-breaking fee for the Scottish Premiership, and if there is a bidding war, the Hoops may be able to secure an additional few million dollars.
