Latest transfer News on Newcastle United F.C target Michael Olise as Jamie Carragher delivers praises for 22-year-old attacking midfielder
It is said that Newcastle United wants to sign the Crystal Palace star during the summer transfer window.
The player that Newcastle United wants, Michael Olise, was back to his brilliant best as Crystal Palace easily beat Manchester United on Monday night.
The French U21 player scored in both halves to secure a 4-0 win and put more pressure on Erik ten Hag. After Christian Eriksen and Casemiro tried to stop him, he easily scored his first goal of the night by hitting the bottom corner. Olise scored the night’s last goal with a rocket of a shot from just inside the box, even though goalie Andre Onana was being questioned.
It has also been said that the Magpies are once again interested in the Frenchman. Since Olise played at Reading, Newcastle has been interested in signing him. Eddie Howe will be hoping to make a deal that will help Newcastle’s hopes of getting back into the Champions League next season.
However, Jamie Carragher, who was reporting on the game for Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, thought Olise played well. The ex-Liverpool back said that the French player and his teammate Eberechi Eze could play for any Premier League team.
“You look at his performance tonight, and they could almost play for anyone in this league,” said Carragher.
When I thought of Crystal Palace, I remember how they always went to Wilfried Zaha and talked about him when he wasn’t there. I think these two are better than him. He was great for Crystal Palace and was probably their best Premier League player.
The 22-year-old has been hurt a lot this season and has only played in 17 Premier League games, but he has scored nine goals in that time. But because of the Magpies’ injury problems this season, Carragher thought that possible suitors might be wary of a player with his history of missing games.
“They may not have been at Crystal Palace as long as Zaha was there, and that is the next important question.” How long will they last?”
Newcastle is currently in sixth place, four points behind Tottenham Hotspur, going into their last three games of the season. Howe’s team has to go to Old Trafford next week and knows that they need to win all three games to make sure they play in Europe next season. Chelsea and Manchester United are hot on their heels.
And getting into European sport is a big part of Olise’s next goal. Last summer, both Chelsea and PSG were interested in the 22-year-old player, who says he wants to play in the Champions League when he leaves Selhurst Park.
“These two players can play football in the Champions League.” If Olise does decide to leave the club soon, Carragher said, “It will definitely be for European football.”
The players will want to do that, but it might be tough to do so at Crystal Palace. The players’ goals will be just as important as the club’s, and you can’t complain if one of them wants to leave if a big club in the Champions League makes them an offer.
