L’Equipe informs Celtic of the cost of re-signing Kyogo from Stade Rennais. It is highly probable that Stade Rennais will sell Kyogo Furuhashi this summer. In the January transfer window, the Parkhead club sold the Celtic hero for £10m in order to pursue a new challenge outside of Scotland.

However, his experience in France has been a complete disaster, primarily as a result of a change in head coach shortly after Kyogo was signed. He has only appeared in six matches for the Ligue 1 club and was unable to score his debut goal during the second half of the previous season.

Rennes appointed a new sporting director in May, and his primary objective is to decrease the number of first-team players in the squad and significantly reduce the wage bill. Kyogo would be accepted by Stade Rennais for a little over £5 million. Celtic have been associated with the possibility of re-signing Kyogo; however, there has been no genuine, credible reporting regarding this matter.

However, the Hoops may now be inclined to entice him to return to Glasgow for a reduced price, as L’Equipe reports that Rennes would only offer £5 million for Kyogo.Consequently, the Bhoys would retain a £5 million profit from his winter sale and would have the lethal marksman back in the first-team squad.

Brendan Rodgers is currently seeking a striker to rival Adam Idah, so it would not be entirely unexpected if Kyogo returned to the green and white hoops. Nonetheless, Celtic may wish to pursue targets in positions other than the one in which Callum Osmand is expected to acquire from Fulham. Birmingham City is now in a prime position to sign Kyogo.
