The 29-year-old Germany international arrived in Istanbul in the early hours of Thursday to a raucous reception from thousands of Galatasaray fans who congregated at Ataturk Airport to welcomed their latest marquee signing. Sané, who was draped in the club’s iconic yellow and red scarf, smiled and waved to the audience,evidently moved by the reception.
Sané opted for a new challenge in Turkey, despite Bayern Munich’s efforts to retain him, which included the offer of a lucrative contract extension. After transferring agents to the renowned Pini Zahavi, who assisted in the coordination of the free transfer, his decision was made.
