has resigned from her position after two years in the position. In a tweet posted on the platform on Wednesday, Yaccarino disclosed her resignation without providing a specific rationale for her decision. Nevertheless, she observed that the organization was embarking on “a new chapter” as a result of its recent acquisition by xAI, Musk’s artificial intelligence company. “
I have made the decision to resign as CEO of 𝕏 after two extraordinary years,” wrote Yaccarino. When #elonmusk and I initially discussed his vision for X, I was certain that it would be the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to fulfill the extraordinary mission of this company. “I am profoundly appreciative of his trust in me to safeguard free speech, revitalize the organization, and transform X into the Everything App.”
Yaccarino commended the X team’s accomplishments, emphasizing the progress they had made in regaining the trust of advertisers and prioritizing the safety of users.I am immensely delighted of the X team; the historic business turnaround we have achieved collectively is nothing short of remarkable.
“We initiated the critical early work that was required to prioritize the safety of our users, particularly children, and to regain the confidence of advertisers.” “This team has worked tirelessly to bring the most iconic voices and content to the platform, beginning with groundbreaking innovations such as Community Notes and, soon, X Money.”
“Now, the most exciting part is yet to come as X embarks on a new chapter with #xai,” she concluded. She characterized the platform as “the world’s most powerful culture signal and a digital town square for all voices,” and she emphasized that it could not have been accomplished without the team, business partners, and users. Yaccarino was appointed CEO of the platform, which was previously known as
Twitter, by Musk, the world’s wealthiest individual and the head of Tesla and SpaceX, in May 2023. This appointment occurred shortly after Musk acquired the platform in a $44 billion transaction. In June 2023, Yaccarino, a former advertising executive at NBC Universal, formally assumed the role of CEO, succeeding Musk, who had temporarily served as interim CEO following the takeover.
