Liverpool is pursuing Barcola, a PSG star, following Wirtz, with a transfer budget that is expected to exceed £300 million. Additionally, they have not excluded Isak.

Despite the completion of a British-transfer record £126million deal for Florian Wirtz of Bayer Leverkusen, the Premier League champions plan to allocate significant funds to another attacker. They are also prepared to compete with Bayern Munich for the 22-year-old winger, Barcola, who is valued at £100 million.

Liverpool have not entirely abandoned their efforts to secure Alexander Isak’s departure from Newcastle. Kop executives continue to desire Isak, who has scored 23 goals, to serve as the leader of their revamped frontline. However, Liverpool will withdraw from the transfer process and pursue an alternative if the Toon demand a fee of approximately £150 million for the 25-year-old Sweden international.

Bar cola emerged as an extraordinary Plan B in the wake of uncertainty regarding his destiny with Champions League champions PSG. The Anfield titans have already spent £29.5m on Jeremie Frimpong, 24, a defender who was a teammate of Wirtz at Leverkusen.

They have also allocated an additional £40m to Milos Kerkez, a 21-year-old left-back from Bournemouth. However, it is the potential for Barcola to collaborate with Wirtz, 22, and Anfield icon Mo Salah, 32, that will have supporters pinching themselves. Barcola, Bayern’s primary target, is no longer a member of PSG’s preferred front three.
