Liverpool’s Champions League match against Manchester City may be missed by eleven players due to a recent injury issue.

Liverpool may be without their first two right-back options for the Champions League match against Manchester City after suffering two injury setbacks against Real Madrid on Wednesday

Eleven players may be absent for the match.

The defending Champions League holders Real Madrid were defeated by the Premier League leaders at Anfield, thereby establishing themselves as the champions of the new-look League Phase and announcing themselves to the rest of Europe.

Their opponent on Sunday is a City team that is in a state of disarray following a 3-3 draw with Feyenoord on Tuesday, which extended their winless streak to six games.

Pep Guardiola has acknowledged that City will be eliminated from the Premier League title race if Liverpool defeats them at Anfield and advances 11 points, while Captain Ilkay Gundogan has acknowledged the same.

City are currently out of form and are still grappling with a significant number of injuries. Rodri and Oscar Bobb are undoubtedly excluded, as is Mateo Kovacic.

John Stones was substituted at halftime during the match against Tottenham last weekend and did not participate in the Feyenoord draw, which further exacerbated the injury concerns.

Jeremy Doku has resumed training; however, it is uncertain whether he will be present at Anfield, as he was not included in the Champions League squad. Liverpool is also expected to be without several critical players.

Keeper Alisson is still unavailable, and Diogo Jota, Federico Chiesa, and Kostas Tsimikas were absent during the match against Real Madrid.

In addition to the Kop’s celebration of a significant victory on Wednesday, Liverpool suffered two additional injuries. The first was to the back-up right-back.

Ibrahim, an influential centre-back, received treatment at full time before Connor Bradley, who had delivered an exceptional performance to neutralise Kylian Mbappe, was forced to leave the field due to a muscular injury.

Arne Slot, Liverpool’s manager, stated, “I am aware of the areas in which they are experiencing discomfort; however, it is challenging to determine the severity or the extent of it so soon after the game.

“This occurs over the course of a season. I sincerely hope that both of them are available to participate, as we would prefer to have them all available.

However, if they are not, another player will need to step up. Thus far this season, all of the players I have designated to start have shown up. The same will occur on Sunday; if they are unable to participate, other players will take their place.

Trent Alexander-Arnold was reinstated to the Liverpool bench on Wednesday; however, he remained seated when Bradley was substituted in the final minutes, suggesting that he may not be completely recovered in time to face City.

Ruben Dias, who returned to the squad after a month’s absence, was in a similar circumstance for the Blues.

However, he was ineffective against Feyenoord, as teenager Jahmai Simpson-Pusey replaced him prior to the collapse. The following players are definitively unavailable for Liverpool’s match against Manchester City:

Rodri, Bobb, Kovacic, Alisson, Jota, and Tsimikas. Stones, Doku, Chiesa, Konate, and Bradley are all questionable for the Liverpool vs Man City match.
