Three of the Toon’s finest have made it into Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for this month’s World Cup qualifiers! 🦁
Nick Pope, Dan Burn, and Anthony Gordon will all represent the Magpies on the international stage as England face Serbia and Albania.
It’s another proud moment for Newcastle fans — Burn keeps his place after scoring a thunderous header in the Champions League, Pope earns a deserved recall, and Gordon continues to impress despite some minor fitness concerns.
Tuchel, who has his eyes on next summer’s World Cup, said he won’t take any risks with Gordon:
“He gives intensity and hunger that’s rare to find… We’re in close contact with Newcastle’s medical staff and won’t take unnecessary chances.”
Newcastle’s young stars Lewis Hall and Lewis Miley have also been called up to the England U21s — the future’s bright, and it’s black and white. ⚫⚪
