Main reason revealed Why Kasper Schmeichel Is Missing from Celtic’s Squad Against Livingston

The reason behind Kasper Schmeichel’s surprise absence from Celtic’s squad this afternoon has now come to light.

The Danish goalkeeper has been left out of the matchday group for Celtic’s William Hill Premiership clash against Livingston, with Viljami Sinisalo handed a start between the posts and Ross Doohan named on the bench.

Schmeichel has nevertheless travelled with the squad to West Lothian and is expected to be available for Tuesday night’s fixture against Motherwell. Speaking ahead of kick-off on BBC Radio Scotland, it was confirmed that the veteran stopper is carrying an injury and required painkillers, prompting the decision to rest him for today’s game.
