The Football Association has fined Birmingham City £100,000 and Ipswich Town £24,000 after both clubs failed to control their players in the closing moments of their Championship clash on 8 August.
An independent regulatory commission determined that both teams were guilty of allowing their players to behave in an improper and provocative manner during stoppage time of the 1-1 draw.
The incident followed a penalty awarded to Ipswich, with tempers flaring both before and after George Hirst’s equaliser.
For Birmingham, it represented their fifth misconduct case in 12 months, with the commission noting that the fine could have reached £135,000 but was reduced due to their cooperation and acceptance of the charge.
