Brendan Rodgers, the boss of Celtic, wasn’t happy with how his team played in the first half of Sunday’s game away at Ross County. At halftime, Celtic was behind by one goal because of a penalty kick by Ronan Hale. They had to work hard to get back on track in Dingwall. After 76 minutes, Alistair Johnston scored the equalizer.

Eleven minutes later, Nicolas Kuhn scored a wonderful winner, giving his team a 2-1 win. With the win, the Bhoys stayed on top of the Scottish Premiership table going into the international break, tied with Aberdeen on a perfect record.

After the game, Rodgers praised his Celtic players in public for keeping fighting to get the win even though they were down a goal.

That being said, he was also annoyed by how his team played in the first half. He thought they were too timid against a physical County team. The manager of the Bhoys has now shared the harsh message he sent to the team in the locker room during halftime to see what they thought.

Brendan Rodgers calls Celtic’s game against Ross County “ponderous.” After the game, the boss told the press, “In the first half we were too slow and too passive.” It wasn’t really good. Our team never looks for an easy game. We didn’t make enough of an effort, and it looked a little heavy and slow.

“We play a running game because we’re a running team.” The game will look different after we start doing that. Ross County has had a great start to the season, which makes it tough for other teams. We were aware that we had to put in a lot of effort to succeed. “It’s a Celtic custom, right?” That’s how this club plays the game.

A lot of our fans showed up in Dortmund. Although what they saw wasn’t good, they were very helpful to us at the end of the game.

Celtic proved they were a winner in the end. Plus, the boss was quick to say that his team did tough it out in the end to get the points. Further, he said, “After the game last week, I said I had complete faith in this team’s ability to bounce back.”

That’s all about grit, drive, and fight, and we had a lot of that. They showed that, and so did we. “Today’s game taught us something, and the new guys will see that there is no such thing as an easy game. You have to put in the work, and we did that work in 90 minutes and got the result.
