Man City are now prepared to acquire a youngster with a 50-goal scoring record after Liverpool submitted an offer.
A recruitment campaign has been underway by Manchester City in anticipation of the 2025/26 season. Tijjani Reijnders has been incorporated into Pep Guardiola’s squad, following the additions of Rayan Cherki, Rayan Ait-Nouri, and Marcus Bettinelli.
It is anticipated that Man City’s summer business will not conclude at this point. Pepijn Lijnders has been appointed to Guardiola’s coaching staff, and James French has been appointed as his new set-piece coach. Additionally, significant adjustments have occurred behind the scenes. Man City has already signed numerous promising young players at the junior level, and
their most recent acquisition will involve the Manchester club attempting to seize a 17-year-old player that Liverpool has already extended an offer to. Man City is prepared to compete with Liverpool for the services of Will Wright. In January, Will Wright made his professional début for Salford City against Manchester City in the third round of the FA Cup.
Now, only months later, the Premier League team is interested in bringing the Englishman to the Etihad Stadium. Liverpool is reportedly very interested in the 17-year-old striker, and the Daily Mail reports that Manchester City are prepared to hijack Liverpool’s pursuit of him. The Reds have already submitted an offer for the teenager.
Salford has yet to approve this, as the report indicates that City are preparing to submit a competing proposal for Wright, which is estimated to exceed £100,000 and include additional expenses. Arsenal, Brentford, Leicester City, and Burnley have also expressed interest in the 6ft 3in adolescent; however, it is widely believed that Liverpool is his current top choice.
Wright, who scored over 50 goals at all levels for the League Two club last season, is considered a top asset by the Premier League clubs. They are enthusiastic about the youngster’s advancement through the Salford ranks. The academy of Manchester City is renowned for its success in the English football league, and it appears that the Manchester team is eager to develop an additional generation of exceptional talent.
Wright would become the latest young talent to relocate to the Etihad Stadium this summer if City were to secure his services. The Manchester club is on the brink of acquiring Freddie Lawrie from Aston Villa, and Dexter Oliver is also on the verge of joining from Tottenham.
Manchester City will also incorporate 15-year-old Kaylum Moss from Liverpool into their junior setup. Sverre Nypan, a highly-regarded youngster from Rosenborg, is the most prominent youngster who is prepared to relocate to Manchester prior to the 2025/26 season.
