Manchester City is expected to proclaim that they have secured the first January signing, surpassing Arsenal.

TBR Football has confirmed that Manchester City are preparing to announce the signing of English development starlet Christian McFarlane from sister club New York City.

In October, we exclusively disclosed that City were in the process of finalising a deal to acquire McFarlane, who was garnering interest from other clubs, including Arsenal.Nevertheless, City have ensured that they do not loose a player who is a member of their City Group Network.Christian McFarlane is expected to be signed by Manchester City.

According to TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, the 18-year-old McFarlane, who is capable of playing either left-back or center-half, is expected to join City in the upcoming week. Initially, he will be assigned to the club’s youth team.

However, TBR Football has learnt that he is considered a potential candidate for a first-team position in the upcoming season. In order to initiate a revival in the second half of the season at The Etihad, City manager Pep Guardiola is eager to sign new players this month.McFarlane is a member of the England junior international team.

City are also attempting to finalise the signings of two additional promising talents, Vitor Reis of Palmeiras and Abdukodir Khusanov of Lens, at the Etihad this month. McFarlane could be one of three defensive arrivals. Man City is also on the brink of acquiring a striker for £50 million. City are also seeking to enhance their offensive capabilities during what could be a hectic window.

City officials are currently in the process of finalising a deal to sign Omar Marmoush, and it appears that they are on the brink of concluding the deal.Frankfurt had attempted to discourage clubs by setting a £50m price tag for Marmoush, as reported by TBR.

However, it appears that City have decided to go all in and sign the Egyptian forward. City are currently 12 points behind Liverpool, the league’s top-ranked team, despite a subpar first half of the season by their own standards. Pep Guardiola, who has a history of resurging in the second half of seasons, will be optimistic that new acquisitions will contribute to this momentum.
