Manchester City lastest injury news on Erling Haaland as the 53-year-old coach Pep Guardiola speaks on the match vs Nottingham Forest
City is feeling good after a big win over Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League. They are looking forward to their match with Nottingham Forest this weekend.
City’s star striker Erling Haaland might be able to play against Nottingham Forest this weekend in the Premier League after Pep Guardiola dropped a hint.
The forward from Norway wasn’t with the team that played Brighton and Hove Albion on Thursday night because he was still nursing a muscle problem. Haaland was taken off during the loss to Real Madrid in the quarterfinals of the Champions League. He then missed the match against Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-finals that followed.
The good news is that Haaland might not have to stay out for much longer on Sunday after Guardiola gave a positive sign on Thursday night. The City manager told reporters, “I’d rather have Erling on my team than have it [the squad] without him.”
“I spoke with him, and he says he feels better, I don’t know.” If Haaland isn’t healthy enough to go to Forest, who are in danger of going down, City won’t be too worried because of how well they played against Brighton.
The Blues were at their best in the first half. Kevin De Bruyne scored a spectacular diving header, and Phil Foden then scored two goals to put City fully in charge. After Kyle Walker made a good run, Julian Alvarez scored after Haaland was taken off, ending a goalless streak of ten games. There was just under thirty minutes left.
With the win, City is now back in second place in the Premier League table, one point behind Arsenal, who are in first place but have played one more game than City. Barcelona plays their next game, which is at home against Tottenham Hotspur on May 14.
